Review: Cooking Academy
For those with inclinations for cooking, here is a game for you – Cooking Academy. In this game, you will be placed in a school of aspiring chefs. To move up, you have to learn how to cook several dishes starting from appetizers such as potato wedges to main courses. One of the best things of Cooking Academy is the certain number of dishes you have to do along the way. If you just want to play one or two challenges at a time, then it would take you a while to finally reach the end of the game.
The game controls are quite easy. Each cuisine has different steps. In making Gyoza, you need to tap the dough to roll it out, tap the ingredients to cook them and then slide your finger to bring the ingredient to the dough. After that, swipe your finger to roll up the dough and tap repeatedly to close the dough into the usual gyoza shape. This is one of the most basic recipes that you would be doing. Speed and accuracy are very important in this game. Cooking Academy provides you with a practice mode to hone your “cooking skills”.
The graphics are pretty simple and it doesn’t really stand out from other games. I am quite satisfied with it though but then again a little embellishment wouldn’t hurt especially when cooking a certain country’s dish.
This game is quite plain but for those aspiring Iron Chef wannabes then it will do them just well.
